The young player from Vic of Girbau Vic TT, Irina Gimeno, 16 years old, has achieved a triple success at the Palau d’Esports i Congressos in Platja d’Aro, proclaiming herself the brilliant champion of the Spanish International Table Tennis Contender, in U17 singles and U19 doubles, partnering with Luka Khidasheli from CN Sabadell, and also winning bronze in U19 singles. A record within reach of very few athletes.
In the U17 individual final, Gimeno defeated the Italian Manon Lot 3-1, and in the semifinals, she overcame the Swiss Ilvi Ulrich by the same score. In the U19 individual, she also won all the matches played and only lost in the semifinals against the champion, Jade Huynh.
In the U19 mixed doubles, Irina Gimeno and Luca Khidasheli (CN Sabadell) won the final, in a high-level match and with the unconditional support of the crowd, against the pair formed by the Frenchmen, Mariom Aubert and Evan Leriche.
Irina Gimeno has achieved several podiums in singles, doubles, and team events in international competitions throughout her career, but this is the first time she has won a gold medal in an individual international event.

CAMILA MOSCOSO (GIRBAU VIC TT), BRONZE IN DOUBLES
The Girbau Vic TT player Camila Moscoso, partnering with Francesc Carrera from Enoli Borges Vall, achieved the bronze after narrowly losing in the semifinals, 3-2, against Irina Gimeno and Luca Khidasheli.
